Last week we had a nice break in the Lake District, a place near Lowther Castle in Penrith. We had the perfect weather with lots of sun, and no rain 😉
Plenty of walking was done, food was eaten and drinks were had.
Some of the places we visited were Lowther Castle and it’s gardens, which were really nice. We have been before many years ago, but good to see again.
Penrith itself is a lovely town to walk around, and it’s 14th-century Castle only ruins now but was still good to see.
We also took a boat ride on the Ullswater Steamer from Glenridding to Pooley Bridge, where we had lunch at Granny Dowbekins Tearooms, very nice….
Paddling in the river and rope swings were also great to do in the heat.
