Brazil With Michael Palin

I have always been a big fan of Michael Palins documentry shows going back to when he did Around The World In 80 Days in 1989.

Brazil with Michael Palin is a travel documentary series by Michael Palin consisting of four episodes. Palin, had never been to Brazil which, in the 21st century, has become a global player with a booming economy bringing massive social changes to this once-sleeping giant which, as the fifth largest country, is as big as some continents.
Season 1 – 4 Episodes.

What We Do in the Shadows

This is a great show. Totally my humour, and I’m a big Matt Berry fan.

A look into the daily (or rather, nightly) lives of four vampires, who’ve lived together for over 100 years, on Staten Island.
Season 3 – 10 Episodes.

Solar Opposites

Being a nut for Rick & Morty, so this was always going to be good. I did have high expectations and it delivered each season, so looking forward the 3rd.

Escaping Planet Shlorp before the Asteroid hit, Terry, Korvo and their two Replicants crash land on Earth stranding them on a world that they must terraform: with their mysterious ‘pet’ Pupa. These aliens become a dysfunctional family stuck in suburban America and can’t agree whether living on Earth is an awesome or horrible prospect.
Season 3 – 11 Episodes.

Our Flag Means Death

Another Taika Waititi project, so hoping this is as good as What We Do in the Shadows, and I do find whatever Rhys Darby is in I like.

After trading in the seemingly charmed life of a gentleman for one of a swashbuckling buccaneer, Stede Bonnet becomes captain of the pirate ship Revenge. Struggling to earn the respect of his potentially mutinous crew, Stede’s fortunes change after a fateful run-in with the infamous Captain Blackbeard. Stede and crew attempt to get their ship together and survive life on the high seas..
Season 1 – 10 Episodes.

The Umbrella Academy

I have only heard great things about this series, both my sons love it. So thought I should get around to watching it.

On one day in 1989, 43 infants are inexplicably born to random, unconnected women who showed no signs of pregnancy the day before. Seven are adopted by billionaire industrialist Sir Reginald Hargreeves, who creates the Umbrella Academy and prepares his “children” to save the world. In their teenage years, though, the family fractures and the team disbands. Fast forward to the present time, when the six surviving members of the clan reunite upon the news of Hargreeves’ passing. They work together to solve a mystery surrounding their father’s death, but divergent personalities and abilities again pull the estranged family apart, and a global apocalypse is another imminent threat. The series is based on a collection of comics and graphic novels created and written by My Chemical Romance lead singer Gerard Way.
Season 1,2 and 3 – 30 Episodes.

Into the Badlands

I have really enjoyed this series, such a shame they have cancelled it after this season.

In a post apocalyptic world approximately 500 years in the future, war has left civilization in ruins. Some elements of technology, such as electricity and ground vehicles, have survived the apocalypse, but society now shuns firearms, leading to a reliance on melee weaponry and crossbows.
In a territory known as the Badlands, encompassing several states located between the Rocky Mountains and Mississippi River, a feudal society has developed to fill the power vacuum left by the war. Barons control land and monopolies over commodities like opium and fuel, trading amongst themselves to maintain the peace. Each baron is served by a massive workforce of slaves called cogs, as well as a prostitute class called dolls. A baron maintains power through an army of young men and women called clippers: highly trained and loyal warriors, clippers are forbidden from marrying and having children lest their loyalties be divided. Each clipper force is captained by a regent.
Several groups exist outside the strict hierarchy of the barons. Nomads are the most common, mostly lawless homicidal bandits who subsist on stealing from trade convoys between the baronies but some live in organised clans. The River King and his men control water trade in the Badlands and beyond, and is considered a neutral party in the barons’ power struggles. An ascetic religious movement called the Totemists is also shown to exist on the fringes of society, living in isolated communities and practising a form of idol worship. The Widow leads a revolutionary group of anti-feudal fighters from her late husband’s barony; although nominally recognized as a baron by her peers, they do not respect her, and the contempt is mutual.
Little is known of the world beyond the Badlands, but it is implied that it is far less politically stable yet environmentally sound like the Badlands. The mythical utopian city of Azra is believed to exist outside the Badlands, but most dismiss it as a legend.
Season 3 – 16 Episodes.

The Endgame

Shame they have only made one season of this show. Guess it didn’t get the view numbers they wanted. I’m still going to give it a go, just because it has a look of black list, and of course it stars Morena Baccarin…

A pulse-pounding, high-stakes thriller about Elena Federova, a very recently captured international arms dealer and brilliant criminal mastermind, who even in captivity orchestrates a number of coordinated bank heists. Then there’s Val Turner, the principled, relentless and socially outcast FBI agent, who will stop at nothing to foil Elena’s ambitious plan.
Season 1 – 10 Episodes.
