Just back from a great short break at Sherwood Forest Center Parcs. Lot’s of food, walks, cycling, swimming and plenty of fresh air was had.
Only about 2hrs 30mins drive there with a short stop mainly for kylo to stretch his paws. Once arrived, we had a little wait before we could check into the lodge, so me and Ryan went for our first of many swims, while Carolyne and Sam walked around with Kylo and had a coffee. After we got into the lodge and unpacked we nipped out for a cycle ride before our evening meal at Bella Italia.
Very early start the next day. A walk for me and Kylo, then off for 9am wall climbing for Ryan. He did really well, but was very knackered at the end. So a full cooked breakfast was needed in the sports cafe. Another swim for me and Ryan in the afternoon, then bowling in the evening. Sam started off well but lost interest, so I think Ryan won that…..
An easier day today as it was Sunday. Nice lie in, walked the dog before breakfast, then me, Ryan and Carolyne went for a swim, still couldn’t convince Sam to come along…. The afternoon was Roller skating, this time Carolyne went with Ryan, while I watched and had a coffee 🙂 Evening meal was at Huck’s and it all went down a treat..
Our last day… Early start to get the car, trying to find your car within a thousand is no joke when the “mark my parking spot” on google maps was way off! once found it was back to the lodge to load up and park up again. Final swim for me and Ryan, plenty of slides and in the deep end for the wave machine 🙂 Quick lunch and then a stop off at Sherwood forest park which was only 15 mins away. I nice hour or so was spent there before heading home.
I know this reads like we didn’t take our oldest son with us, but we did. Unfortunately he’s at that age were he’s not old enough to be left at home, and definitely doesn’t want to be with his mum, dad and younger brother…. 🙂
And one final collection of images. The animals we encounter on our stay. Most, but not all of them were out to tease kylo 🙁 🙂
